the stillness of a spring morning. white and purple crocuses in a sunlit patch of grass. petting the softest cat. colour seeping back into the willow tree. fresh pastries in the window of the bakery. the sheep in the green fields. the blue of the sky. the first chapter of a book. sitting in the morning sun waiting for the library to open. days that you don’t expect anything out of but turn into wonderful days.
sitting by the river drinking coffee on a cloudy day watching the birds and ducks. daydreaming. walking the path in the museum gardens and seeing all the new flowers budding. fresh cinammon rolls. hyacinths in the sun. street music. coffee and cake at the library cafe. a snow day. a new exhibition at the fine art shop. sitting in the warm library surrounded by books while it snows outside. jasmine tea in the evening and reading by candlelight.
spending the morning at the park. the reflection of the sun on the river. a hug from my grandma. sitting in the window of my favourite cafe with the endless sun warming my face, the sweet taste of coffee on my lips, and the slow hum of music from my headphones. pasta and fresh lemonade. the sun coming through the stained glass windows in the minster. having an iced coffee and a lemon and blueberry cake in a cute little bistro.
the blue of the river. sitting on a bench in the park sketching and a robin perching next to me. singing along to songs with a friend. a visit to the art gallery. the tulip stall. dappled sunlight. hot chocolate and cake with a friend at the cafe we always go to. walking through the city when it’s quiet and people are slowly walking and smoking. fresh fruit. daffodils. getting food from the market. the blue sky and sun through the huge library windows. an afternoon at the gardens. treating myself. a comforting shower, skincare, and an early night.
sunlight coming through the trees. iris and bluebells in the grass. breakfast with a friend at a restaurant full of art, antiques, and flowers. orange juice and french toast with the seasonal toppings of rhubarb and orange. a marquee with colourful tapestries and art. drinking strawberry milk with a friend on the steps to the river. reminiscing on childhood stories in the bookshop. daffodils surrounding a historic tower. seeing a friend after a few months. a fresh red apple, carrot, lemon, and hibiscus juice. reading on a bench in the park. tulips opening. my mum making all my favourite food after a day of fasting.
