the most beautiful and crisp autumn morning. the blue sky reflected in the water. getting breakfast at a cafe with a friend. buying myself some pink dahlias. reading by the river. golden light shrouding the minster. the sun breaking through the mist in the fields. making spontaneous plans with a friend to go to the seaside because we were both craving the sea. sitting in the park watching a little girl chase the squirrels. the sun coming out after it’s rained. the ground still being wet so the light and blue sky reflecting everywhere. a heart-shaped stone. face-timing a friend in the evening.
a little trip to the seaside. penny machines at the arcade. sunlight glistening on the water. a cute florist shop. eating fish and chips on the beach. pistachio ice cream. golden light in the fields. eating thai food at the market with a friend. waiting for the library to open with the people i see all the time. sitting in the sunny grass amongst all the autumn leaves in the park. escaping the rain into a cafe with a good playlist. the feeling of a hot drink on a cold day. a foggy morning. the feeling of coming out of a cinema in the evening. seeing fashionable old people. the sunset on the river. a good takeaway. being on the motorway at night.
a cherry frangipane pastry from the bakery. people automatically smiling at you when they walk past and see you. seeing cows and sheep in the fields every day. doing some readings at one of my favourite cafes and someone playing the piano so beautifully. walking while wearing a white midi skirt and having a moment where it sort of billowed out and feeling like a princess. a good cinnamon bun from the library cafe. mist in the fields. seeing the man who used to greet me every morning after a while. doing little things to make life easier for myself. laughing with a friend. watching the fireworks.
blue film over the fields in the morning. the way birds fly in formation. an early morning walk by the river. an interesting exhibition on words and poetry at the sculpture gallery. getting some lilies from the flower stall at the market. watching the ducks. layering up on chilly days. a pretty red autumn leaf. coffee with a friend at the riverside cafe. lovely little encounters with strangers. re-reading a book i read in my childhood. getting to see pretty sunsets on the train home. the morning smelling like the night’s rain. cute halloween decorations everywhere. having an umbrella in my bag but wanting to feel the rain on my skin. being on a train at blue hour and seeing people on another train next to you and acknowledging each other’s existence for the duration that you’re side by side. sleeping at my grandmas.
the radiance of the full moon. the evening bustle of a city. the liminality of a service station at night. low-level lighting. evening walks and the in-between moments when the streets aren’t too busy and everyone’s inside and you can see the warm light from the windows of bars and restaurants. hearing the laughter and music and glasses clinking from within when someone opens a door to take a call. people in shops and cafes tidying up before shutting up and leaving for the night. being in bed when it’s cold and windy and storming outside.

wishing you a great november 💌💌
